Lucas Green: “Box Hill was great to me whilst I was developing”

Box Hill United is thrilled to announce the signing of defender Lucas Green who will be joining the Senior Men’s side for the 2024 season.

Set to turn 18 next month, Green already has an outstanding résumé. Green last played for Melbourne City FC’s youth sides but spent time at Box Hill United as a junior before making the move. Green also represented the Victorian Metro side at the Football Australia Boys National Youth Championships in 2019.

Green has great admiration for Box Hill United and has been keen to return for some time.

“The Club was great to me whilst I was developing,” he said.

“Clearly, it still is now which is why I’ve come back.

“I enjoyed my time at Box Hill, it’s a really impressive youth development system.”

Young talents like Green don’t come around too often, but what stands out is his attitude. Green is humble, ambitious and ready to be a key part of this Box Hill United side as soon as possible.

“Being a young player, my goal is to find as many minutes as possible for the team this season,” he said.

“It’s all about helping out on and off the pitch wherever I can.

“Ultimately, it is to help push the team as high up the table as possible.”

Green, eager to make his return to Wembley Park, concluded his message with some words for the Box Hill United faithful.

“Believe in the team, we’ve got some good things coming,” he concluded.
