Nick Weller on his memorable late goal to clinch draw

In their second match of the season, Box Hill United faced off against North Sunshine Eagles in a showdown that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Throughout the game, players showcased excellent form, maintaining control of the pace and contributing with spectacular defensive plays and numerous attempts on goal.

One of those was Nick Weller, who got Pythagoras off the mark in spectacular fashion with a bicycle kick.

He described the moment as the bigger picture was clear.

“It wasn’t just the end, in the whole game I thought all the boys put in such a good effort,” Weller said.

“We definitely deserved the point out of this game, it’s a credit to the whole team.

“We worked hard down to 10 men and I’m glad we got the point.”

Box Hill found themselves briefly trailing towards the end, but they quickly turned the tide and managed to level the score.

“Towards the end it got very intense,” Weller added.

“With the red card it made it a bit more difficult … but the boys really dug deep and made our way back into the game.”

In this exhilarating moment, the team showcased their resilience and determination.

Weller’s heroics brought unprecedented joy to the fans, and he became a hero on the pitch.

Looking ahead, we’ll be returning to Wembley Park next week to take on Essendon Royals Soccer Club. Walker expressed his excitement and hopes to see Box Hill fans there cheering them on.

“The Royals will be another tough game at home at Wembley,” he said.

“Hopefully there’s a few of our supporters here, that should be a good game.”

Box Hill United Football Club extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, making the recent match night an unforgettable and impactful event.
