NPL Women Match Preview: Round 2 at Bentleigh Greens

Box Hill United heads to Kingston Heath Soccer Complex to face Bentleigh Greens on Saturday afternoon in NPL Women Round 2.

Pythagoras were defeated by Brunswick Juventus on the opening night of the season at Wembley Park, with a late surge from the visitors doing the damage.

Bentleigh Greens suffered a similar fate, going down 4-1 at Lakeside Stadium against South Melbourne FC.

Previously known as Bayside United, a merger now sees the Bentleigh Greens name in NPL Women, as the re-signed Club captain Olivia Bomford leads the way.

Bentleigh Greens players to watch:

Isabella Fernandez scored Bentleigh Green’s opening goal of their 2024 season and is set to play a crucial role in attack again. It is currently her second season at the Greens.

Sarah Johnston is a new signing for Greens this season and made her club debut against South Melbourne. The experienced midfielder has played in New South Wales and Canberra. She won the Championship with Canberra Olympic before making the move to Victoria.
