Senior Women poised for bounce back after tricky Preston Lions test
Box Hill United’s Senior Women travel to Dorothy Laver West Reserve on Saturday afternoon, in Round 15 of NPL Women.
Pythagoras were defeated by Preston Lions 2-0 last Friday night, but some moments in games could have turned fortunes around.
With the goalkeeping performance of Charlotte Hrehoresin stopping numerous big chances for Deven Jackson and Rhianna Pollicina in particular, Pythagoras know that sustaining the chances created and shots from close range will lead to bigger and better returns.
Alamein FC awaits on Saturday, who have had win-loss results of late and will be looking to build consistency in this area.
With the upcoming hosts having 20 goals combined from both sides in the past month of matches, coupled with Box Hill United’s attacking potential, it promises to be another highly engaging encounter.
Alamein players to watch:
Rebecca Saber is Alamein’s leading goal scorer with 11 from 14 matches – failing to score in just five of those.
Club captain Sidney Allen next best, averaging a goal every second match this season with seven to her tally.
Last time we met:
Round 4 of the 2024 NPL Women season saw Box Hill United host Alamein at Wembley Park.
After leading 1-0 at the break, Pythagoras went on to record a 2-1 victory with Mawa Sumaoro and Bridie Cooling on the scoresheet.
