VPL 2 Men Match Preview: Round 13 vs North Sunshine Eagles

Box Hill United will host North Sunshine Eagles in Round 13 of VPL 2 Men on Friday night.

After three consecutive away trips, the Senior Men return to Wembley Park with a good patch of form on their side.

The three-match away run included two wins out of three – the latest a 2-1 victory over Pascoe Vale at CB Smith Reserve.

Pythagoras’ upcoming opponents in North Sunshine Eagles are equal top of the ladder and are one of two teams to remain undefeated.


North Sunshine players to watch:

North Sunshine’s 30 goals as a collective so far this season is a league high and they currently have a joint top goal scorer in their squad.

Corentin Chauve has scored eight times so far this campaign, with six of them coming in just his previous two games where he netted four against Goulburn Valley Suns and then a brace against Doveton.

Ndue Mujeci is next best as a regular scorer for his team. A brace against Doveton last weekend took his season tally to seven goals.


Last time we met:

In Round 2 of the 2024 VPL 2 season, North Sunshine and Box Hill played out a 1-1 draw at Larissa Reserve.

Mujeci came on from the bench to score the opener during the second half, before a late bicycle kick from Nick Weller salvaged a point for Pythagoras.
