Yianni Toumanidis: “Box Hill United is clearly moving in the right direction”

Box Hill United FC is excited to announce the signing of 28-year-old midfielder Yianni Toumanidis.

Before joining Box Hill United, Toumanidis played for Eastern Lions before spending the last three seasons playing at Malvern City.

Toumanidis is a gritty, physical yet technically gifted midfielder. He compares his game to advanced playmakers such as Kevin De Bruyne and Andres Iniesta.

With his vast experience at this level, Toumanidis looks poised to bring his determined and professional attitude to the Box Hill United dressing room.

When asked to speak on his experience at Box Hill United so far, Toumanidis only had positives at the forefront of his mind.

“The club has been really good to me,” he said.

“Everything is done extremely professionally.

“Box Hill United is clearly moving in the right direction.”

Despite already establishing a deep and respectable career in Australian football, Toumanidis is bringing plenty of ambition to Box Hill United. He has clear targets he wants to reach in the 2024 season.

“As a team, we are all aspiring for promotion,” he said.

“We’re all going in with the mindset that we want to win every game.

“Finishing first on the ladder is within our sights.”

Toumanidis brought his statement to a close with some words for the supporters of his new club.

“It will be good to see all the supporters,” he said.

“We would love to see a good crowd down at every game.

“Please come and support us, both home and away.”
