Zoë Hudson highlights unwavering resolve and resilience
Box Hill United FC faced Bentleigh Greens SC at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex in Round 2 of NPL Women – despite commendable efforts from Box Hill, the match concluded with an unexpected 1-0 defeat.
In a post-match interview, Zoë Hudson mentioned the missed opportunities that could have changed the course of the game, expressing regret while also emphasising the importance of capitalising on chances.
“I think we started off at a really strong level and dropped just a bit,” reflected Hudson, encapsulating the lingering mixed emotions after the match.
“We had six or seven clear-cut chances and we have got to put those away.
“Regardless of how many chances we had, that’s not what goes on the stats, the stats was the one-zero loss,” she said candidly.
Despite some disappointment with the outcome of the match, Hudson remains steadfast in her belief in the team’s potential.
“We are definitely optimistic moving forward, it’s only round two.”
“I think we’re going to continue to play within our identity. I’m sure we’ll get some wins ahead.”
Looking ahead to the Good Friday fixture, Hudson expresses confidence in the team’s ability to overcome obstacles and grow stronger.
“We’ll definitely move forward, we leave this in the past,” she said.
“We’ll just keep the intensity training the way we want to play, and hopefully get that win.”
