NPL Women Match Preview: Round 6 at Essendon Royals

Box Hill United will be looking to bounce back when they face Essendon Royals at Cross Keys Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

FC Bulleen Lions recorded a 3-0 win over Pythagoras at Wembley Park last time out, but a sense of optimism beckons as the squad has a clear run after some injury hurdles.

The Royals have started the 2024 NPL Women season in strong fashion, sitting in third place on the table following their inclusion to the league this campaign.

With league spots still wide open, there is plenty up for grabs.

Essendon Royals players to watch:

Audrey Oastler has scored three times from her five matches, making her the top goal scorer so far. In Round 3 against Heidelberg United, she netted a brace to help the Royals to a 3-1 victory.

Reona Omiya is next best with a couple goals from five matches, where most recently she scored the opener in the Royals’ 2-1 win over South Melbourne in Round 5.
