Luke Pickett: “We are ready to make the Box Hill faithful proud”

Box Hill United FC is pleased to announce that 18-year-old defender Luke Pickett has re-signed with the senior men’s squad for season 2024.

Pickett has been with Box Hill United throughout the majority of his career, being a part of the youth set-up from as early as 2018 where he played at the U13 level for the club.

Pickett burst onto the scene in 2022 when he made his first senior squad appearance at just 16 years old. In the time since his debut, Pickett has featured for the senior squad on multiple occasions. The young centre-back made an impression, earning seven senior caps during the 2023 season whilst floating between the U21s and the senior squad.

Since turning 18, Pickett has made it a goal of his to play in the senior side as much as possible. He also wants to contribute at a high level, helping Box Hill United in achieving many wins.

“My main aspiration is to win as many games as possible,” he said.

“But I also want to be starting and playing games throughout the season.”

Pickett, eager to make his mark at Wembley Park, concluded his statement with some words for the Box Hill United faithful.

“I’m really looking forward to the season ahead,” he said.

“We are ready to win lots of games and make the Box Hill faithful proud.

“We all know how successful we can be this year.”
