Sara Petkaris’ perseverance pays off

Box Hill United FC is delighted to confirm the re-signing of Sara Petkaris for the Senior Women’s team.

Unfortunately we did not get to see Petkaris in action during 2023 as she was recovering from an ACL injury, however 2024 is a fresh start for the 15-year-old winger.

A Box Hill United junior player, Petkaris also spent some time at Monash City FC previously.

Having being inspired to play by her older brother, Petkaris reflected on her growth to where she is today.

“Joining the seniors was the big things that happened in my career,” she said.

“Box Hill presents these opportunities and being in the women’s squad is really cool.”

As a target for this season, Petkaris is hoping for a healthy year on the park.

“I’d just like to get my confidence up because I’ve been out with the ACL injury,” she said.

“It’s been a good recovery and hopefully I can contribute to the team with some goals.”

Petkaris can’t wait to her return to the pitch.

“Come down and cheer us on, we will get this season done for you,” she said.
