Bobby Zdravkovski emphasises growth and optimism in women’s side

Box Hill United FC performed with promise in the recent match against Bentleigh Greens, but resulted in an unexpected loss with a score of 1-0 on Saturday evening at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.

The perseverance the creativity was on full display, with plenty of opportunities and crosses into the box.

In a post-match interview, Head Coach Bobby Zdravkovski expressed optimism for the game ahead with Preston Lions. He also conveyed his disappointment with the result following the lost chances for goals, despite playing well at times and controlling the game.

“We had six or seven clear-cut chances, but we didn’t put them away. The opposition scored once through a free-kick,” Zdravkovski said.

“We need to be more clinical in our box, got to put that ball in the back of the net.”

However, he also highlighted some promising signs, such as the young players’ performance, and acknowledged that there is a lot to work on, especially off the ball.

“We have a few players who need to raise their bar and be more consistent. We also need to put the crosses into the box and work on our finishing,” he added.

Looking ahead to the standalone Good Friday fixture, Zdravkovski vowed to stick to the team’s style and strategies.

“We’ll be ready for the game and play the way we set up. Hopefully, this time, we create chances and score a few more goals,” he said.

“We have a few players who are coming back from injury, and we’ll be blending them with the youngsters. We need to work hard on the training pitch and be ready for the game.”

Zdravkovski assured the fans that the team would be ready for the match at full speed.

Box Hill United and their coach remain steadfast about the team’s future and is determined to overcome the challenges they face to rise up the table.
