Luke Del Vecchio: “I want us to strive for the best defensive record”
Box Hill United are delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old goalkeeper Luke Del Vecchio.
Del Vecchio last played for The University of New South Wales Football Club and helped guide his side to the 2023 Football NSW League Two Men’s title.
Arriving with some early career success, the shot-stopper joins at the perfect time to cement himself as a reliable number one.
Despite being new to Box Hill United and the state of Victoria itself, Del Vecchio has set his sights high for the upcoming season.
“I want us to strive for the best defensive record and that will be my focus to give everything I can to the team,” he said.
“As a collective group, it’s important that we do everything we can to win the league and be there for each other.”
Del Vecchio is quick and agile between the sticks, but his communication and leadership skills are what make him stand out as a footballer.
Being only 23 years of age, Del Vecchio still has his best years ahead of him. Del Vecchio is eager to continue his development at Box Hill United.
“I’m ready to get started, this is a great place to be,” he said.
“When looking ahead to the future, I hope to remain at Box Hill United playing football here in Victoria.”
Box Hill United’s number one concluded his statement with a note to the Box Hill United faithful.
“Please come down and get behind us – we’ll give you everything we have,” he concluded.
