Oscar Brooks: “We have a great squad and we are looking upwards”
Box Hill United is pleased to confirm the re-signing of defender Oscar Brooks for the 2024 Senior Men’s season.
The 32-year-old wingback has had a long career spanning over a decade with most of it spent in Europe. It is his second season at Box Hill United after previously being based at Geelong Soccer Club.
A veteran among the squad, his experience will be invaluable.
“I was at Geelong Soccer Club before this and I was overseas for a good while before that, in the UK bouncing around there,” he said.
Brooks kept it short but sweet when discussing how he has felt at Box Hill United since he signed.
“Love it, this is my club,” he shared.
Brooks understands he is one of the older players in the squad and has an important role to play for the team in that aspect. He sets realistic standards for himself and the squad for 2024.
“I’m on the older end of things now so it is good to get some game time in whilst I’ve still got it in the legs and helping the boys out,” he said.
“We have a great squad so winning games and getting points is important. We are looking upwards.”
Brooks reinforced the message of his teammates suggesting that the 2024 season on the horizon will be a very exciting one for all involved.
“Come down and watch the boys at Wembley, it’s a good young squad and it’ll be a real entertaining season from us,” he said in a message to the Box Hill United fans.
